Andre, a classically beautiful shot. Great controlled use of light to light the lighthouse and bring out the stars

I tried a few variations that night but in the end, it was the simpler one that worked best. I basically setup the tripod with my wireless phottix remote.

I hid myself behind the bushes at the base of the lighthouse and set off the shutter and then painted the base of the lighthouse with my little torch.

I didn't want stars trails or moon trail for that matter. I knew 30sec was max. So I ended up having to use a high iso and almost wide open aperture.
This is pretty close to what came out of the camera, just a bit of curve adjustment.

Location is Cape Willoughby Lighthouse on Kangaroo Island. We stayed in the lightkeepers cottage for a couple nights, great location.
